A Mailchimp alternative
Outgrown Mailchimp’s 250 contacts?
Dodomail is free for 1,000 emails a month, and Pro starts at $15 a month. You pay for the emails you send, not the contacts you keep.
| Compared | Mailchimp | Dodomail. |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 250 contacts, 500 emails a month (250 a day) | 1,000 emails a month, however many contacts you keep |
| What the price follows | How many contacts you keep, unsubscribed ones included | How many emails you send |
| Going over | Free: sending pauses. Paid: overages are added to your bill | No overage charges: a send bigger than what's left this month doesn't start, and you choose whether to upgrade |
Mailchimp’s figures are from its pricing page and help pages on 23 October 2026, and may have changed since.
Moving takes one upload
Step 1
Export your audience from Mailchimp
Mailchimp's export is usually a ZIP, with one CSV for each kind of contact. Open it and find the file of subscribed people.
Step 2
Import that file in Contacts
The email and name columns are matched for you, and any other column can become a field. One file takes up to 50,000 people.
Step 3
Only subscribers come across
Leave the unsubscribed, non-subscribed and cleaned files behind, so nobody who left your list is emailed again.
